Transformers breakaway toy11/19/2023 ![]() His task was to defend the rarefied energon there, until Primus called him once more. At the time, it was still a barren planet. Out of the One, ManyĮventually, Breakaway ended up on Earth. Heatwave ended up in the negative polarity universe. In order to prevent the power of the Star Saber from falling into the wrong hands, Nexus Prime split himself and the Saber into pieces, scattering them throughout the multiverse. Breakaway himself was sent to his current place and time by Primus, and Vector Sigma created his supercomputer assistant.Īnd now that he has been awakened by two of his gestalt brethren, Breakaway must leave the safety of his Caretaker and travel to find their group's remaining members and fulfill his true mission.īreakaway was once part of the multiversal singularity known as Nexus Prime of the Thirteen. The full truth, however, is that Breakaway is part of an ancient combiner, split apart long ago and its components scattered to the cosmos. There are also the wounds of the spirit to deal with, which the good-natured Autobot tries to soothe with kind words and a (sometimes too) trusting nature. Ability-wise he is a gifted healer, able to use his almost supernatural powers of energon manipulation to repair even the most grievous of wounds. His present, in turn, only contains two certain bits of knowledge: that the pool of Rarified Energon he's slumbered by these millions of years on Earth is of the utmost importance and must be guarded closely, and that he can trust in the help of his Caretaker supercomputer. I'll do what it takes 'til I touch the skyīreakaway doesn't remember much about his past, other than the hazy light and warmth of the Cybertron he left a long time ago. They did give me a new head sculpt that looks very close to the original, but otherwise this is a disappointing homage to a G1 toy that deserved better.I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly It’s a car in similar colors to Getaway, that’s as much sense as this makes. Getaway, now renamed Breakaway, was a Powermaster, not a Headmaster. I should have realized they were just going to be illogical. Well, I was wondering what Hasbro was going to do with repainting some of these molds that had no logical repaint. G1 Headmasters were so much better, but that’s true of most G1 toys. ![]() This makes it so that the larger robot heads are articulated, but also makes it hard when plugging them in to Titan Masters vehicles. Another thing that sucks is that the heads of the Headmasters are articulated. G1 Headmasters were way better than these, and had the ratings meter on the chest gimmick that they didn’t even try to reproduce. Related to that, it really sucks that we aren’t going to get any real versions of the Headmaster Juniors or Headmaster Horrorcons.įinally, the Headmasters are freaking tiny. It would make far more sense to name them for the Headmaster and not the character they partner with, as we are only getting the Headmaster. Clobber and Skytread could theoretically be the Headmasters for Grimlock and Flywheels. Why can’t they be consistent? Apeface, Brawn, Nightbeat, and Terri-Bull are named for the actual characters they are the heads for instead of the actual heads they represent. I mean, they still could do those as box sets next year, but I’m not going to hold my breath. As usual, they half ass everything, just like with Combiner Wars, where they ended the line without doing Terrorcons, Predacons, Seacons, Monster Pretenders, G2 Protectobots, and G2 Constructicons (in both colors). They put all the work into the real Headmasters and just mailed it in on the Targetmasters that they shouldn’t have been doing in the first place. Worse yet, the two Targetmaster converts, Blurr and Scourge, both have awful paint jobs (or I should say, barely any paint jobs at all). Secondly, what the fuck is it with Hasbro that they need to focus on only one theme at a time? Why are we getting Targetmasters and Powermasters as Headmasters? It makes no sense. There is no quote or function, and the only bio is a couple lines on the back of the package, they didn’t even bother to put it on the card. There are only four ratings instead of the eight that nearly all other tech specs have had for 30 years (when we’ve actually had tech specs). I guess they tried, but in the then end, they failed miserably. Hasbro made a big deal that they were doing real trading cards and not just a picture with no meaningful back. ![]() There are a few things I need to say about the Titans Return line.įirst off, the trading cards.
